The first day you will paddle the local Scorpion sea caves, the same as with any other Scorpion trip. But the second day, you will shuttle to Prisoners Harbor on the ferry with your kayak, and paddle back to Scorpion, visiting all of the sea caves that are available at East Santa Cruz Island -- many of which are not attainable on any other trips. Plus, you'll have an entire third day free for more paddling, or for hiking or lounging around. A challenging and very rewarding trip!

-- EFFORT WHY ARE PEOPLE IN 2-PERSON KAYAKS LESS EXPENSIVE DURING PEAK SEASON? The total number of kayaks that can be on the water within the Park are strictly limited by Park regulations. Consequently, a 2-person kayak will allow for twice as many paddlers as will a 1-person kayak (similar to double occupancy for hotel rooms.) This is why 1-person kayaks are a little more costly during the peak season. Be sure to book your trip absolutely as early as possible to ensure that you can get the kayak type that you desire (or perhaps any kayak at all!) Guided kayak trip pricing compares very favorably to guided hiking trips in Yosemite, which cost around $160 per day and have no kayaks and gear nor ferry costs included.
Prices are for single or tandem kayaks – your choice. 2.5 miles of paddling the first day, and 8.3 miles of paddling over the second day. More paddling or hiking, your choice, on the third day. |
